Thresholds: Worlds That Are Given - How Architecture Speaks Through Videogames

Peer-reviewed article in Thresholds journal, published by MIT Press. In this paper I explore a series of famous architectural quotes as starting points for exploring the unique spatial properties of videogame worlds.

From Louis Kahn’s brick to Bernard Tschumi’s architectural witness and Zaha Hadid’s exploitation of all 360 degrees, I chart how these famous proclamations are extended and challenged by virtual game spaces. The piece included a series of drawings made to examine each of these spatial conditions.
