Mattes and Grounds

A city obsessed with renewal and revision becomes a city of falsehoods. Our studies have led us to believe that the presentation of such redefined identities remains essentially static from the city. Gestural sweeps become translated into views for the consumption of progress, standing images that define an ideology without position. Buildings exist and can become canvasses for ascribing a new space into, whether through physical manifestation, recognition or notoriety.
There is therefore a certain number of “grounds” - city space, new space, back and foreground - to views and the process within.
